About the Adventure Weekend Camp:
This is the second year we are doing this weekend camp. Last year's edition was titled "Operation Ticking Bomb", and it was all about a massive camp scavenger hunt in which teams of boys had to worked together to find the clues necessary to diffuse a bomb. It was a lot of fun for the 40+ boys that came!
This second edition the "terrorists" are at it again: they have threatened the camp and its surrounding neighbors and towns with a deadly virus that they concocted in the laboratory. Campers will be placed in teams and given some initial clues to look for an anecdote to the deadly virus. Several challenges await them, including avoiding being infected by the disease and more. Should be a lot of fun!!
Formation: We will have daily Mass, as well as adoration on Saturday. We will have morning prayers, talks, Gospel reflections, rosary, night conscience exams, personal mentoring, and more. Prayer and catechesis are weaved in throughout the whole weekend in a smooth and creative way that takes into account middle school boys' rhythms.
Ages: Boys grades 5 - 8.
High School Leaders: Looking for High School boys to be team leaders (6-8) and counselors (about 6). Respond to this email if your son would like to apply.
Cost: $75 for all campers and leaders. (All campers and leaders receive their own age-appropriate formation throughout camp. The exception is that middle schoolers participate in activities as participants, and high schoolers participate as leaders.)
Chaperones: We need 5 dads to chaperone! Basic duties include wake up, cooking and clean up, taking pictures, setting up the bonfire, and simply being present. Every dad that comes as a chaperone can bring one son for free.
Arrival and Departure: Arrival at 7pm at camp, and departure at 12 noon from camp.
Sunday Mass will be available for all boys and their families at 10:30 am, followed by awards and announcements.
