Jacob is a seminarian who will be with us through July 19.
"My name is Jacob Miller, and I am your summer seminarian! I'm excited to be with you all during this time and discover the beautiful things Jesus Christ is doing here in Zionsville. Here's a little information about me:
I'm twenty-four years old and was raised in the countryside surrounded by cornfields. My home parishes are St. Mary, Union City, & St. Joseph, Winchester;
Father Christopher Roberts was my pastor in high school and a tremendous influence on my priestly discernment. I really grew in my Catholic faith after St. Alphonsus's Knights of the Holy Temple started a chapter at my home parishes, where I served as the Master my senior year.
I attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville and there began to seriously consider the priesthood after getting involved in the Newman Catholic Center and meeting Father Christopher Shocklee.
I graduated in May of 2019 with a Religion major and Biology minor, and afterwards joined the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana as a seminarian, completing my Pre-Seminary Year at St. Bernard in Crawfordsville.
This past year was my first year of seminary in Pre-Theology I at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis.
I loved my time learning about Our Lord and have a great desire to serve His people, fostered from my own love to share Jesus's Sacred Heart with others.
I love to read, lift weights in the gym, and engage others in conversations about the faith. My favorite saints are Sts. Philip Neri, John Vianney, and Dominic de Guzman. I have a strong devotion to the Hearts of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. As you see me in the church over the summer, make sure to introduce yourself and say hi!"
