San Francisco Adult Probation: Chief Karen Fletcher Message and Newsletter
A Message From Chief Fletcher
Dear Friends,
Remembering George Floyd! A year ago the nation mourned the tragic death of George Floyd. Millions of peaceful demonstrators gathered to call for justice and reforms to a system that has impacted communities of color. With all of the challenges we’ve faced as a community and nation over the past year, I wanted to recognize and pay tribute to those who have organized for change. We must learn from the mistakes of the past as we forge a new future free of bias and injustice.
From civil rights activists to local community leaders, the movement continues to fight for social justice and reforms to an archaic system. This is a time of deep reflection, introspection, and healing. Together, we can create the future we desire!

May 2021 Community Update: San Francisco Public Defender Mano Raju
Dear Community,
I hope this finds you well. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. While we are proud of all that we have accomplished in the last century, we are excited for opportunities to grow and to further develop the field of public defense. Below are some of the highlights of our recent work.
Even as the County starts to open up from the pandemic, people continue to languish in jails and prisons, many awaiting trial well past their last date. We continue our fight for them.
In Solidarity,
Mano Raju
