MOMENT OF THE WEEK
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, we had our first time of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. This took place on Thursday, June 3rd from 8am - 6pm and even included a 'family hour' from 4pm - 5pm. This will continue from now on the first Thursday of every month. You are welcome to come, pray, and be still in front of the Blessed Sacrament!
GOSPEL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Read the Readings from this Sunday, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
Exodus 24:3-8; Psalm 116:12-13, 15-16, 17-18; Hebrews 9:11-15; Mark 14:12-16, 22-26
Use the following discussion/reflection questions in your families, with your spouse, your friends, or even as personal journal questions:
1. Have you ever doubted that the Eucharist is Jesus’ Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity? Why? What, if anything, do you struggle to understand or believe about the Eucharist?
2. Why do you think Jesus chose to remain with us through the Eucharist instead of in another way? How can the sacraments, in particular the Eucharist, strengthen your relationship with Jesus?
3. What kind of questions are you asked about the Eucharist? How do you respond to those questions? Is it ever hard to talk about the Sacrament of the Eucharist? Why or why not?
DIVINE PRAISES
Many Catholics who attend Eucharistic adoration are familiar with praying the Divine Praises. This litany of praise normally concludes a time of adoration, giving glory to God present in the Holy Eucharist.
The prayer can be traced back to the 18th century and was composed by Italian Jesuit Luigi Felici, for the purpose of making reparations against blasphemy and profanity against God. Many have prayed the Divine Praises for their personal prayer and find it to be a beautiful prayer of praise, resting in God’s divine presence.
Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, virgin and mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints. Amen.
May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time. Amen.
WEEKLY WORSHIP
This Sunday we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ
I take the bread of life broken for all my sin Your body crucified
To make me whole again
I will recall the cup poured out in sacrifice
To trade this sinners' end For Your new covenant
Hallelujah I'll live my life in remembrance
Hallelujah Your promise I won't forget
I'll walk salvation's road With fear and trembling
Your way borne as my own As Christ is formed in me
