Celebrating the Eucharistic Love of the Heart of Jesus
You are the first ones to see the new statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus just installed this afternoon! You might have wondered about the purpose of that raised flower bed and spotlight shining on a blank wall along the new driveway--now you know!
We are just in time for the month of the Sacred Heart and for our observance of Corpus Christi with newly-ordained Fr. Bill Duffert. We will have an outdoor Eucharistic procession this Sunday following the 11am Mass. We will set up an altar in front of this statue for Benediction.
Does anyone have time to cut the tops off the shriveled tulips and plant some pretty annuals along the edge before Sunday? Please call the office tomorrow and tell Ann if you can. (Pat is out of the office tomorrow for a grandchild's graduation.) We will reimburse you for the cost of the annuals.
Pay attention to the heat these next days--it isn't worth anyone getting heat stroke! I have even shortened the Eucharistic procession so it will just come straight from church to the outdoor altar. Then the clergy will bring the Holy Eucharist back to church and everyone else will stay at the new facility for the ice cream social where you will have an opportunity to congratulate Fr. Duffert and get his blessing.
Thanks for all you do! It takes lots of work to care for our beautiful gardens in case anyone is interested in adopting a portion for regular upkeep...
Nature is in full bloom to celebrate Corpus Christi!
