The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Solemnity)
Moses offered young bulls as a holocaust to seal the covenant
between God and Israel, sprinkling the people and the altar with the
sacrificial blood.
The Apostle Paul said: For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sanctifies for the purification of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Jesus took bread and wine, gave it to them, and said,
“Take it; this is my body; this is my blood.”
Let us Pray
O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left us a memorial of your Passion, grant us, we pray, so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may always experience in ourselves the fruits of your redemption. Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Pray for our Sick:
