A Final Note from Fr. Dave Voors
Scroll down for Saturday updates and changes with the funeral of Fr. Dave's mom.
The final word....
Almost 5 years to the day, I arrived as Pastor here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. I was excited. I had heard so very much about the Parish! Now, as I look back, the years have flown by.
I wish to thank all who have set such a great example by involvement here. God, I believe, smiles upon our Parish, even more true - His Parish.
The Parish staff is superb.
Our Parish school stands out as one of the best.
Our Parish activities and meetings reflect an outreach to a great number.
Our Parish Family is involved in so many events and happenings for the good of our community.
As I leave, a lot has been accomplished - because of YOU.
The Advent and Lent Confession Liturgies 600+ people.
Daily Mass always has good numbers.
Sunday Mass shows the Faith is strong.
The recent Capital campaign has us with no debt (remember, we were $2 million dollars in debt), a new heating and air, Jesus moved to the front and center with perhaps more coming, plus a lot more!
We have so very many groups, organizations and gatherings. Some around for years, others NEW: Life in the Spirit Seminars, Parish wide Consecration to Mary, Healing ministry, Rosary making, Kingdom Builders women gatherings, a new Religious Education format focusing on the importance of Family, Fidelis and Fraternus blessing youth and adults, His Precious Ones offering support and love for those who have faced miscarriage, Little Flowers girls club, HeartsAFire, along with 3 men Ordained as Priests, a Deacon and another seminarian in formation. We also have 2 men from our Parish in formation for becoming Permanent Deacons.
At most every Mass I ask the Lord to bless our Parish. I ask you all to keep me in prayer. These have been "troubled" times as I grieve my Mom's death along with the upcoming move.
I thank all who have offered prayers for my Mom and our family. I see each prayer as a "pierce of armor" that protected my mom in her final hours against any attacks from the devil and aiding her in her judgement.
My final thought:
- Talk with God daily.
- Stay close to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- Regular Confession keeps us healthy.
- Mass every week.
- Help others - even to the point of sacrifice.
- Take time to learn about the Faith....it is so precious and contains such richness.
Please feel free to visit me at St. Mary's Parish in Avilla! As said already....with every prayer you offer for my good...you are making a visit to my heart. I thank you.
In Jesus' love,
Mary's care
The Angels presence...I am thankful
Fr. Dave Voors
Pastor
PS: Hey! This year, June 20, I celebrate my 40th year as a Priest. Pick up a prayer card in Church or stop by the Parish office. God bless you.
