Funeral Mass for Marcia Hochdorfer - Today
It is with tremendous sadness to announce that our sister in Christ, Marcia Hochdorfer, went to eternal rest last Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from complications with ovarian cancer. A funeral Mass will be held today, June 11 at 1:30pm, at the church. Anyone who would like to pay their respects or attend Mass is welcome to do so.
Marcia worked in our front office for a few years and has been with the parish since its inception in 1999. She was also passionate about rescue dogs, especially Lhasa Apsos and Shih Tzus who were in shelters, abandoned, older, and sick. She adopted them as companions and gave them beautiful lives full of hope and love. She was a supporter of Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue in Houston, Texas, but lived in Florida.
Marcia loved Ohio State University football, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. She graduated from Florida State University. She loved our country and honored our veterans. She enjoyed watching “Blue Bloods”.
Marcia loved her family with all that she had, including her twin brother, Michael, who lives in Connecticut with his family.
Thank you Marcia for being such an inspiration for those who loved you and for those you loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

President Biden’s budget proposes forcing taxpayers to fund abortion on demand!
On Friday, May 28, President Biden released his Fiscal Year 2022 budget in which he proposes to eliminate the Hyde Amendment and some related pro-life provisions. Calling for elimination of Hyde in a president’s budget is unprecedented. The Hyde Amendment and similar laws have protected taxpayers from funding elective abortion for 45 years.
Now, powerful members of Congress want to take away these laws that both Democrats and Republicans have supported for nearly half a century. Billions of taxpayer dollars could be used to pay for abortion. The Hyde Amendment has been part of every appropriations bill since 1976, with strong bipartisan support. Now the President and Democratic leaders want to exclude the amendment from all future spending bills.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is urging all Catholics to take action to preserve the Hyde Amendment by signing a petition and contacting their U.S. Senators and Representatives.

Bishop Barbarito Updates Pandemic Safety Protocols
On June 7, 2021 the bishop of Palm Beach, Most Reverand Gerald M. Barbarito, issued an updated directive that lifts most restrictions concerning COVID-19 protocols. Furthermore, as of the weekend of June 19/20, 2021, the general dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass will no longer be necessary and is lifted.

Blessed Jolenta of Poland
Feast Day - June 12

The daughter of King Bela IV of Hungary and granddaughter of the emperor of Constantinople, this medieval princess was raised by her elder sister, St. Kunigunde, queen of Poland. Their family tree included other saints: Hedwig, Elizabeth of Hungary and Margaret of Hungary. Jolenta married a Polish duke whose charitable works earned him the popular name “Boleslaus the Pious.” After his death in 1279 and the marriage of two daughters, Jolenta, Kunigunde, also now widowed, and Jolenta’s youngest daughter entered a Poor Clares convent. Jolenta later became abbess of a convent she had founded with her husband. Also known as Helen of Poland and Yolanda of Poland, Jolenta was beatified in 1827.

Sacred Heart devotion is not magic or some automatic ticket to heaven; it is a sacred way for us to encounter the fullness of the Gospel, the good news of God’s saving love poured out for us in Jesus Christ. As we steadily progress in our knowledge and communion with the Lord, we will fall ever more deeply in love with Jesus and live out that transforming and redemptive relationship in every detail of our lives. This devotion unites our minds, hearts and wills in one great act of oblation — a total gift of the self to the One who has first offered himself completely to and for us.
