"Deacon" Michael assigned here at St. Elizabeth
In this week's bulletin, Deacon Candidate Michael writes:
Last weekend, I was pleased to receive via mail the Decree of Appointment from Bishop Paprocki, making my first diaconal assignment official. I am very excited to be able to announce that I have been appointed “to assist as deacon the pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish.” I am so grateful to accept this assignment to serve the pastor and people here at St. Elizabeth as I begin my service as a deacon.
Michael's ordination to the diaconate will be on Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral in Springfield, streamed at
dio.org/live. Michael will serve as deacon and preach at Masses at St. Elizabeth the weekend of June 26-27 All parishioners are invited to join his friends and family for a 'come & go' reception with light snacks at the Columbus Home (KC Hall) from 1:30-3:30 on Sunday, June 27. In lieu of gifts, please consider donations to the parish's Mission & Ministry Fund, or to the Parish Community Tithe - the generosity of the faithful of the diocese through ACSA and other diocesan giving has provided for the 6 years of Michael's formation.
