Brothers:
I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!!
I wanted to take a moment and recap our last gathering that occurred this past Thursday, June 10, 2021, at St. James.
The group reviewed the informational brochure Ron Ward and Mike Colaccino created to promote the Men for Others group. They also created a one page flyer that will appear in future editions of the St. James' Sunday Bulletin.
The group agreed to postpone our recruitment event to September / October time frame when we return to our regular cadence of meeting every 2nd Thursday of the month. We hope you attend Father's Day masses this weekend, but we will NOT be doing any group activities.
We also decided due to the 4th of July holiday to skip our next gathering and focus our efforts around our August gathering. The August gathering will be our annual Bocce Ball Tournament at the Parish House of Thursday, Aug 12, 2021. We will looking for volunteers to provided bocce balls sets, beverages and to grille hot dogs and hamburgers. More details on this monumental event in the coming weeks.
For us to have a vibrant group, we need some volunteers to plan upcoming events. If you are interested in helping to plan our upcoming 2021 - 2022 season including the Men's Retreat; Pasta! Pasta! Parish Meal; and Simple Suppers; I would ask that you complete the poll below indicating your interest.
We are also looking for volunteers to reach out to our fellow brothers via phone to re-engage them in our group. Every day we are further away from the Pandemic and closer to full engagement. We need help in spreading the word and re-energizing our group.
Finally, attached is the presentation I reviewed this past Thursday for everyone's information. As some of you are aware, we have been viewing various Faith Formation videos from the Formed platform (
https://formed.org/). Formed is similar to a Catholic Netflix with many video and audio lessons about the Catholic Faith. The group decided to see if we could raise funds to purchase a subscription for the Parish. Please reach out to Jerry Peruski (email: jperus@gmail.com) or myself if you wish to contribute.
I hope everyone has a blessed week!!
John Fitzpatrick
