He has served as temporary associate pastor at Saint Joseph Parish in Fitchburg, associate pastor at Saint Joseph Parish in Charlton, and interim director at the Office for Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Worcester. For the last eight years, he has served as pastor of Saint Mary Parish in Uxbridge.
Father Lucas LaRoche, Associate Pastor, is from Annunciation Parish in Gardner, Massachusetts and was ordained a priest on Saturday, June 19, 2021. The oldest of three, he studied printing and graphic design while completing high school at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg and later philosophy, theology, and languages in Worcester, Boston, and Rome. Father LaRoche recently finished a one year specialization in Patristic Theology (the writings of the Fathers of the Early Church). He enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling and is looking forward to working with the parishes in Linwood, Uxbridge, Millville, and Blackstone.
Father John Larochelle, Associate Pastor, was born in Springfield but his parents moved to Worcester when he was three years old and he has spent his life growing up here. He is the oldest of eight children and has 14 beautiful nieces and nephews. After being homeschooled by his parents, he attended Nichols College in Dudley, where he received his BSBA in accounting. He then worked as a CPA for almost fourteen years while also being very involved as a disaster services volunteer with the American Red Cross. During those years, he gradually came to the realization that God was calling him to be a priest in the Diocese of Worcester. After a great deal of prayer and with the support of his family and many wonderful priests, he entered formation at Saint John’s Seminary in Boston, where he has spent the last six years. Father Larochelle was ordained a priest on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
