THIS WEEK:
Fire safety week is upon us! What a great day we had having the Washington Fire Department visit us! The rain didn’t get in the way of our visit! We just moved everything inside. The kids learned about crawling low under smoke to stay safe. Most of the children went through the smoke room & experienced crawling low under smoke. Then we got to practice Stop, Drop & Roll to stay safe. I will post pictures to the Facebook page soon! The Firefighters talked with the kids about finding a way out of the house & also having a meeting place.
We tasted our applesauce! Many of the kids weren’t sure about “the brown” applesauce? Then, they tasted it & thought it was delicious! This is a very easy recipe to make with your kiddos! Let me know if you want it!
We continue working with Tucker signs to learn our letters & letter sounds! This week, we have learned the long a, long e, and j sounds. We will continue to learn letter names and sounds and how they all work together to make up words!
DONATIONS: Thank you to the Minino family for the wonderful donation of a large carving pumpkin! We will study that pumpkin inside & out! Then comes the fun part…carving it! It’s messy but oh so fun! Thank you for your generous donations.
Also, we are looking for used pots & pans for a music area outside!
WATER BOTTLES: We sent water bottles home in the middle of the week & are sending them home again on Friday. We did this in an effort to thwart off any of those evil germ bugs that we do not want plaguing preschool! We won’t do this every week…just the ones where we think someone might have a nasty bug. THANK YOU for being so diligent about cleaning them & returning them!
BOOK ORDERS: Just a reminder about book orders. You can order the books online! Check out Scholastic reading for more information! Book orders are due Oct. 17.
Happy reading!
SNACK: Miyesli Duarte & family provided snack this week! The kids enjoyed dipping their apples in peanut butter (and we had left over caramel sauce) It also fit right in with our apple tasting! The kids thought that 15 out of 19 kids would like the red apples the best. After they tasted the apples, 7 liked red apples, 5 liked green apples & 6 liked yellow apples. It’s amazing how much math goes into our snack time!
Snack next week will be Milania & family!
SUPERHERO OF THE WEEK: Keegan Boshart is out Superhero of the Week! Since we didn’t have school last Friday, I didn’t get the poster out to him in time. We will learn more about Keegan next week. We will also learn about Ryder Vittetoe! We are so lucky to have 2 Superhero’s next week!
BOOK ORDERS: You can order the books online! Check out Scholastic reading for more information! This is a great way to get new books into our room. For every book you order, we get points to order books or other items for the room! Go ahead, check it out! Book orders are due Oct. 17. Happy reading!
