Hello, Everyone!
Fire Prevention Week was a success!
This class of preschoolers did a great job of participating in the school wide drills. Now we know where to go & what to do in case of fire, tornado or if an intruder should be in the building!
In the classroom everyone practiced what to do in case clothes catch fire. (Does your child remember?) It was also great fun to pretend to be fire fighters with the help of music!
Of course several books on the subject were read.
Last not least: Every child rolled up his/her sleeves & went to work to create a Fire Truck! The once bare boxes now sport color, ladders , window & doors. Wheels will be added next week. "And don't forget the hose!", Ty reminded me.
Highlight was a visit from one of our local Fire Fighters, Mr. Chenoweth!
He talked about what to do if there is a fire in the house. This class was not shy telling him what needed to be done to stay safe.
Mr. Chenoweth brought along his Oxygen tank & mask. Everyone listened as he explained how it works & how it helps a fire fighter breathe if smoke is in the house. We decided he sounded strange when he put on his mask & talked to us.
As you can see, the next couple of weeks will keep us busy with Halloween activities and learning about pumpkins! -
Help! Pumpkins needed! If you have any to share, consider bringing them to preschool, please. Our garden yielded only miniature pumpkins...bigger sizes are welcome! We do want to investigate & carve some...and of course play in pumpkin slime!
Thank you!Thank you very much for all the tasty snacks provided this week. No left overs.
Mrs. Mac & I are looking forward to more fun in learning with your child!
