With the heat of the Summer months upon us, I want to remind you to make every effort to dress appropriately when attending Mass. Let’s give Jesus the respect He deserves by dressing in our best Church clothes (as Mom used to say). Also, let us try to maintain a reverent silence in the Church, as we acknowledge that Jesus is present with us. Please be mindful that Sacred Heart Church and Chapel are places of solemn worship where people come to pray before and after Mass. Your cooperation in greatly appreciated.
On Monday, July 5, there will be only one Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. In observance of the Independence Day holiday, Parish and CCD Offices will be closed.
I’m happy to announce that we will have a Sacred Heart Parish picnic on Sunday, September 5, at 1:00 p.m. up on the Hill. So mark your calendars and save the date. More details to come as the day draws nearer.
Last, I want to pass along a note from Zetharay Bullock. “To the Sacred Heart Community ~ The family of Howard Bullock appreciates your prayers and support during Howard’s illness and transition. May God’s peace be with you always.”
As we celebrate the July 4th holiday this weekend, let us continue to pray for those who fight to protect our Nation’s freedoms, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives for those freedoms.
Peace,
Father Potts
