July 4, 2021 - Thank You Father Ben!
We can all be thankful to God for the many gifts Fr. Ben has brought to our parish.
This weekend we will all have plenty of opportunities to show him our appreciation. It is never easy to say goodbye. In French we simply say " Aurevoir", which literally means: "See you again!"
In the last 10 years our parish has been blessed with five parochial vicars: Fr. John, Fr. Lopez, Fr. Santiago, Fr. Philip and Fr. Ben. Each one brought us their pastoral experience of parishes they served before joining us. Each one brought us their very rich personal experience (including in four different countries of origin: USA, Ecuador, Spain and Chile). All of us, parishioners, volunteers, staff and clergy have benefitted greatly from such a diversity of pastoral experiences.

This Sunday, July 4th will be Father Ben’s last day at OLHOC. Please join us after all Masses to say good-bye! He will be greatly missed!

General Dispensation from the Obligation to Attend Mass has been lifted
The dispensation of the Sunday and Holy Day obligation has been lifted. The reinstatement of the obligation to attend Mass begins this weekend. Full in-person participation of the Sunday Eucharist is welcomed, which is the source and summit of our Catholic faith (cf. Code of Canon Law, canon 1246-1247 and Catechism of the Catholic Church, n.2180).
This does not apply to those who are ill, have reason to believe they have been exposed recently to the coronavirus, or any other serious or contagious illness. Anyone confined to a hospital, home or nursing facility, having a serious underlying health condition will continue to have dispensation.
Please consult with Father Alain if you have questions regarding your obligation to attend Mass.
The local bishops are lifting the General Dispensation from the Obligation to Attend Mass
beginning on Saturday, June 26, 2021 and Sunday, June 27, 2021.

New Mass Protocol
Following the guidelines by the Archdiocese of Washington, and the state of Maryland, we will make these changes to our procedures:
- No need to “sign-up” for Mass
- We encourage everyone to continue wearing a mask for the time being
- Maintain 3 ft. distances between families
- Center aisle pews will be fully open. If you wish 6 ft distance, the side aisles will still be every other pew.
- More Mass parts will be sung.
- If you are feeling ill, please stay home and watch Mass on OLHOC YouTube Channel.
- Altar Servers please contact Deacon Bill if you are interested in serving.
- We will need 2 Lectors for each Mass, please contact Michelle Klein if you're interested or leave a message in the office.

OLLC gives preschoolers a beginning in their Catholic education. Many families need financial assistance to attend our OLLC Early Learning Center. HELP KEEP OUR CHURCH CLEAN
Since last year, OLHOC cut back on many of the services we use to pay for. Due to financial restraints, the lawn maintenance is all done by volunteers, we no longer have a staff person to help out with the facilities, and we cut back on our cleaning services to once a week. Please do your part in helping to keep our church clean.
