Hi there, everyone! Hope that you are having a great week & Happy Independence Day! Here's our Flocknote for this week...
1) The Parish Offices will be closed on Monday, July 5th to observe the Independence Day holiday. The Offices will reopen on Tuesday @ 9:30 am.
2) Help Wanted: Have you ever considered becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion or a Lector? We could use your help. If you are interested in learning more about either of these ministries, please contact Fr. John.
3) Prayer for our Country: On this Independence Day weekend, here is a prayer for our nation:
God our Father, giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for your glory and dwell among your people.
Send your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing your will.
Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject the “culture of death.” Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
4) Thank you to all those who contributed to our Heart of the Shepherd campaign! Your support is greatly appreciated! In the fall, as we begin to celebrate our 100th anniversary, we will be extending an invitation to increase our offertory contributions. "Foundation of Faith, Future of Hope" will help us to celebrate the foundation of the past 100 years & build a future full of hope for the next 100 years.
I will be taking a few days in the early part of this upcoming week to be with my dad. He is doing "ok" right now, he has his days where he's good & then days where he's in pain. I will be away from Sunday & return for a Tuesday evening meeting.
Have a blessed week!
Fr. John
