SUNDAY READINGS:
Amos 7:12–15 Go, prophesy to my people.
Psalm 85 “Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.”
Ephesians 1:3–14 God chose us in Christ, before the foundation of the world. or 1:3–10
Mark 6:7–13 He began to send them out.
From Amos to the twelve apostles, God calls people of faith to serve others. Amos, a shepherd, and horticulturist was called to prophesy to Israel instead. Saint Paul was called to bring Christ’s message to Gentiles all around the world. Jesus sent the Twelve in pairs to heal the sick and drive out demons. As we listen to today’s readings, let us consider how God calls us to give witness to the gospel.

Desde Amós hasta los doce apóstoles, Dios llama a las personas de fe a servir a los demás. Amós, pastor y horticultor, fue llamado a profetizar en Israel. San Pablo fue llamado a llevar el mensaje de Cristo a los paganos de todo el mundo. Los Doce fueron enviados en pares por Jesús, para curar a los enfermos y expulsar demonios. Become a volunteer! Volunteers are an essential part of the SVDP. Through their work, commitment, and hope, we can undertake many forms of social action which benefit millions of people. Each of us has something special to contribute. The SVDP has a broad framework of action, in which you are sure to find something to suit you and where your contribution will be valuable.

We are still looking for someone to step up as a “Chairperson for Volunteers,” this person will oversee helping to schedule volunteers and be a contact person for all volunteers. If you are interested, please speak with or contact Kathy Baldobino.

RCIA will begin in September for anyone interested in becoming a Catholic.
This process fosters the spiritual needs of the following persons:
- Those adults never baptized, who seek to become Catholic,
- Those adults baptized in another Christian church, who seeks to be Catholic.
- Those adults already baptized as Catholic but who have not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
