Sunday Readings:
Jeremiah 23:1–6 I will gather the remnant of my flock and appoint shepherds for them.
Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.”
Ephesians 2:13–18 Christ is our peace who made both one.
Mark 6:30–34 They were like sheep without a shepherd.
In the Gospel we hear today, Jesus invites his disciples to take a break and rest a while. He invites us to do the same today. As we rest our minds and bodies, let us listen to God’s word. Jeremiah tells his people that a king and shepherd will come to bring justice to the land one day. Paul writes that in Christ, walls are broken down, and peace is established among all peoples. Jesus laments the directionless people massed on the shore. And so he began to teach. May we be eager learners.

En el Evangelio que escuchamos hoy Jesús invita a sus discípulos a descansar un poco junto a él. Nos invita a nosotros a hacer lo mismo hoy. Démosle un descanso a nuestra mente y a nuestro cuerpo para escuchar la palabra de Dios. Jeremías le dice a su pueblo que un día vendrá un rey y pastor, y traerá la justicia a la tierra. Pablo escribe que en Cristo se derriban las barreras y se establece la paz para todos los pueblos. Jesús lamenta la gente sin rumbo que se amontona a las orillas del mar y comienza a enseñarles. Que aprendamos anhelantemen de Jesus.

Become a volunteer! Volunteers are an essential part of the SVDP. Through their work, commitment, and hope, we can undertake many forms of social action which benefit millions of people. Each of us has something special to contribute. The SVDP has a broad framework of action, in which you are sure to find something to suit you and where your contribution will be valuable.
Summer Adoration hours: Wednesdays, following 8:30 a.m. Mass until 9:00 p.m. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed again on Thursdays, following 8:30 a.m. Mass until 5:45 p.m. and Fridays, following the 8:30 a.m. Mass until 9:00 p.m.

We are still looking for someone to step up as a “Chairperson for Volunteers,” this person will oversee helping to schedule volunteers and be a contact person for all volunteers. If you are interested, please speak with or contact Kathy Baldobino.

RCIA will begin in September for anyone interested in becoming a Catholic.
This process fosters the spiritual needs of the following persons:
- Those adults never baptized, who seek to become Catholic,
- Those adults baptized in another Christian church, who seeks to be Catholic.
- Those adults baptized as Catholic but who have not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

Sunday, 25 July 2021, has been designated by Pope Francis, as the First World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly (Ord Time 17). It coincides with the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, grandparents of Jesus, on July 26.
Occurring in the Year of Amoris Laetitia Family 2021-22 with the theme, ‘I am with you always", the day draws attention to the vital role grandparents and the elderly play in our communities and in the mission of the Church.
