Pope Francis recently instituted the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly to be observed annually on the last Sunday of July (this year July 25), because of its proximity to the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, parents to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and grandparents to Jesus.
