Gossip... Rumors... Secrets…
There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. Therefore, whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops. Luke 12:2-3
When I was teenager, telling story was one of the popular thing to do. My Mom always reminded me that “The wall has ears. You better tell the truth.” In this Gospel passage, Jesus confront the Pharisees’ and scribes’ efforts to hide their vices and defects under the veil of hypocrisy. What was said in private or secret will eventually become a matter of common knowledge. Nothing-not even the most insignificant things- can escape God. Every action will have it consequences, and every word you said has a power to heal or to hurt. You will be judged according to what you do and say. Don't do something today, you know you will regret tomorrow. Think before you act. Be gentle with words. Don't say something you can never take back. You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube. For my eyes are upon all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor does their guilt escape my sight. (Jemeriah 16:17)
God, our Father, I offer you my day. I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, actions, joys, and sufferings in union with the Heart of Jesus, who continues to offer Himself in the Eucharist for the salvation of the world. May the Holy Spirit, who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today so that I may witness to your love. With Mary, the mother of our Lord and the Church, I pray “Hail Mary full of grace…” May the souls of all the faithful departed, especially those of my loved ones N…., through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
Peace in Christ,
