Statement of Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez Regarding Reinstating the Obligation to Attend Sunday Mass
“We have all felt the impact of COVID-19 in as individuals and families. It has been a time of acute hardship and struggle, of separation and isolation. It has also had an impact on our lives of faith. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, has been with us throughout this challenging period and is most especially near to us when we encounter him in the Eucharist. The Eucharist offers us His healing and peace, His mercy and reconciliation. It is now time for everyone to return to the Eucharist with renewed faith and joy.
As many aspects of life are now returning to normalcy, each Catholic Bishop in Pennsylvania will reinstate the obligation to attend Mass in person on Sundays and Holy Days beginning on Sunday, August 15, 2021, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mass Schedule Remains the same thru Summer:
4:00 pm Saturday Vigil Mass, Sunday Masses: 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 am
Rectory Office Summer Hours:
The Rectory will close one hour earlier on Fridays during the Summer months. Friday Summer Office Hours will be 8:30 am - 2:00 pm. The schedule remains the same Mon - Thurs 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
St Max is looking for Adult Volunteers for Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
Background Clearances and Safe Environment training are required to serve in this volunteer role.

We are trying to determine if we will be able to resume CLOW this year based on our number of volunteers.
- It's important to have a rotation of volunteers, so the program doesn't fall to the same individuals every week. Volunteers are scheduled using the Ministry Scheduler Pro System
- CLOW takes place during the Liturgy of the Word at the 10:30 am Mass each Sunday.
- This program is for children-Pre-K thru early grades.
- The Rectory provides materials each week and we can arrange for your training too.

St. Max School Pre K has a few openings in our PreK 3 program for full day students. This program is for students who are 3 years old by September 1.
It runs 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is a perfect introduction to school readiness in a fun and gentle way. After school CARES is also available.

The praying of this Novena is to unite everyone in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the 19th of each month, from March through November 2021, in single petition of confident prayer to the Lord through the heavenly intercession of Saint Joseph. Holy Hours with the Good Shepherd
Need some encouragement? Join us for a holy hour with fellow priests, religious and lay faithful as we seek strength and hope from Jesus, our Good Shepherd, the saints and one another during these difficult times in the world and the Church. The Holy Hour includes Rosary, Litany and Benediction. Afterwards join us for a short talk on a saint, exploring how he or she remained faithful to Christ and His Church during the trials of his or her time. Meets quarterly on Sundays, 2-4 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Drexel Hill, PA.
