St. Simon the Apostle Parish and School will be hosting a NET Discipleship Team this school year! The NET Team will aid our Parish's youth ministry and school campus ministry programs by forming relationships with youth, helping them to encounter Jesus, and helping them live life as disciples of Christ.
The NET Team is a group of 8 college-aged (18-24) Catholic men and women who will live within the Saint Simon community for 9 months ministering to our community and sharing their spiritual journey with those they encounter. Some are discerning religious life. Others are exploring a career in youth ministry. Others, still, are just searching for their paths and want to share their faith with others. All are amazing young men and women who are not afraid to pray with you and for you! (http://www.netusa.org)
We are inviting you to consider hosting a few members of the NET Team in your home for a small portion of the year. Families open up their homes to our NETters for different reasons. Some have youth they are hoping will get better connected in the ministry; others simply want to help make a difference. Either way, hosting the NET Team members is a vital component to the success of the program. Would you consider graciously opening up your home to host these young missionaries? We have plenty of openings that need to be filled and would greatly appreciate your donation of your home, time and hospitality to the team.
Each host home will house a minimum of 2 NET team members of the same gender for 2-3 weeks. Team members travel with their own sleeping bags, personal items and are flexible where they sleep. All NET Team Members go through an extensive application, screening, and training process as part of volunteering to serve with NET.
If you are interested in helping out this year please complete the
Host Family Information Sheet as soon as possible with your schedule preference so we can plan accordingly. Thank you for your time and talents and feel welcome to contact me with your concerns or questions.
Blessings to you and your families,
Amy Taylor
