Looking for an inspiring yet inexpensive Date Night? Saturday, July 24, 6:00 PM - all are invited! The KofC Dinner and Movie Night this month is Joan of Arc. This 1948 flick stars Ingrid Bergman and 'includes a cast of thousands' with Jose Ferrer, Francis Sullivan, and J Carrol Naish.
The abbreviated life of the 15th century French farm girl and later, Saint Joan. At the age of 14, Joan begins hearing voices from heaven directing her to lead God's Army to defeat Orleans and help crown the Dauphin, Charles VII as King of France. Her tale is one of courage, conviction, betrayal, and eventually martyrdom.
This film is not rated by the MPAA.
Community Food Drive at St. Mary of the Mills: July 11 - August 15, St. Mary's is holding a summer food drive and needs our help replenishing their pantry. They distribute 75 - 100 bags of food every Thursday from 10 - 11 AM at the Laurel Community Center. After so many weeks the pantry is depleted, and they need serious help restocking the shelves. A list of items will be posted on the bulletin board of the Social Hall. Any items purchased for the food drive can be dropped off in the vestibule of St. Mary of the Mills Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD. 20707. Thank you so much for your generosity. Working together serves more of our community. God Bless You!
