SAFE ENVIRONMENT UPDATE
FOR ALL ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS
The Diocese of Rockford has implemented an online program called VIRTUSOnline to record, track, and update Safe Environment documents and required training. As you know, all volunteers must complete the required documents and training in order to participate in ministry.
If you have previously submitted Safe Environment documents and are currently in an active ministry, please forward your best contact email address to Olga Pomella at opomella@stthomasmorechurch.org. Your VIRTUSOnline account profile will be updated with this email. VIRTUSOnline will generate an email to you providing your USER ID. Go to www.virtusonline.org/virtus/. You will need to request a password reset. Once your password is reset, log in to review your profile, required documents, and required training. Please complete the required documents and training and confirm the submission has been recorded.
In the future, the VIRTUSOnline program will generate email notifications regarding revised documents and additional training requirements.

Men between the ages 14-25 are invited to a day retreat called “Encounter,” given through the Rockford Diocese.
If you want to grow deeper in your walk with Christ and to discover God’s purpose for your life; this retreat is for you.
The retreat will run from 9:00am to 2:30pm, with Mass, Adoration, talks, fun activities, and lunch.

SILVER & GOLD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS
Is 2021 the year in which you and your spouse celebrate your 25th, 50th, 55th, 60th, 65th, or 70th or more wedding anniversary? Bishop Malloy and the Life & Family Evangelization Office would like to celebrate this milestone with you. Couples celebrating the milestone wedding anniversaries of 25, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 or more years of marriage in 2021 are invited to a special Mass in their honor at St. Mary Parish in Huntley, IL on Sunday, August 22nd at 2:30 PM celebrated by Bishop David J. Malloy. A cake and punch reception will immediately follow. House introduces most extreme pro-abortion appropriations bill
Congress is continuing to move forward on paying for abortion with your tax dollars! Your U.S. senators and representative need to hear from you now.
The House Committee on Appropriations is advancing bills this week that would:
- force taxpayers to pay for elective abortions;
- force health care providers and professionals to perform and refer for abortion against their deeply-held beliefs;
- force employers and insurers to cover and pay for abortion in health plans.
