John 6:1–15 He distributed as much as they wanted to those who were reclining.
In the first reading, Elisha takes an offering of barley loaves and shares it with many more people than it would be expected to feed. All ate plenty, and some were even left over. In the Gospel, Jesus takes five barley loaves and two fish and can share them with over five thousand people. All ate their fill, and twelve baskets were filled with the leftovers. God can provide more than we need, despite all appearances to the contrary. As we sing in the psalm today, “The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs.”

Hoy escuchamos relatos de dos ocasiones en que el número de panes, al parecer insuficientes, dieron de comer a una gran multitud. En la primera lectura, Eliseo toma la ofrenda de panes de cebada y la comparte con muchas más personas de lo que fuera esperado. Todos comieron a saciarse y aún sobró. En el Evangelio Jesús toma cinco panes de cebada y dos pescados, y los comparte con más de cinco mil personas. Todos comieron a saciarse y después recogieron doce canastos llenos de sobrantes. Dios puede proveer más de lo que necesitamos a pesar de que las apariencias demuestren lo contrario. Así lo cantamos en el salmo de hoy: “Abres, Señor, tus manos generosas y cuantos viven quedan satisfechos”.

RCIA will begin in September for anyone interested in becoming a Catholic. This process fosters the spiritual needs of the following persons:
- Those adults never baptized, who seek to become Catholic,
- Those adults baptized in another Christian church, who seeks to be Catholic.
- Those adults baptized as Catholic but who have not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
