PARKING LOT PROJECT UPDATE
We are happy to announce that our parking lot project is moving forward as planned and will begin on 8/9/21.
Due to the complexity of the project, it will need to be done in several stages and require approximately
2 weeks for completion.
On the week of 8/9 to 8/13, they will be doing the concrete portion of the project, which will entail taking out some concrete in a couple of areas, then adding additional drains in the parking lot and installing a center concrete pan in the center of the parking lot which will catch the majority of water run-off.
Then on the week of 8/16 to 8/20, the milling of the old asphalt will take place and once removed, appropriate grading will be done then repaving will begin.
During these periods, most likely the majority of the parking lot, if not all of it will be closed. We will do everything we can to minimize the inconvenience to our parishioners, but as with any project of this magnitude, our contractors may encounter variables and unknowns along the way. We have tried to anticipate these as best we can, but we won’t know until the old asphalt is removed.
Along with these unknowns, there is a national shortage of asphalt due to the oil shortage. Our contractors have assured us they are working diligently to obtain needed materials, but we won’t know for sure until paving day arrives. All these variables can effect our time table.
We will try to keep you all updated as the project moves along. Thank you for your patience.
