Happy World Day for Grandparents & the Elderly!
Pope Francis has announced the institution of the first World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly!
Near the feast of Sts Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, we remember and honor all of our elderly and our grandparents who have sacrificed much for us all and are images of God's love.
The elderly are precious, Pope Francis said, “because [they] sing the praises of God and preserves the roots of the peoples.” They “remind us that old age is a gift and that grandparents are the link between the different generations, to pass on to the young the experience of life.”

May we all, young and old, recognize that we have received one call, one faith and one baptism, and walk together into God's kingdom of peace and mercy!

Send Your Spirit, O Lord, to renew the world,
that the storm of the pandemic might be calmed,
the poor consoled and wars ended.
Sustain me in weakness
and help me to live life to the full
in each moment that You give me,
in the certainty that you are with me every day,
even until the end of the age.

We will offer a prayer for grandparents at all Masses this weekend. After Mass, grandparents are invited to see an usher and receive a special prayer card
PRIEST VACATION
Father Michael will be away July 25-31.
NEW TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees for each parish is made up of the Cardinal Archbishop, the Vicar General, the Pastor and Two Trustees. Patrick Moore and Rosemary Thorn have served in this role for three years. They have been a valuable resource for our parish and a great sounding board for Father Michael. We thank them for their service. Two new Trustees have been appointed. They will serve for one year with the option of being renewed for two additional years. We thank Mary Walsh and Marty Soyka for their willingness to serve
