INSTALLATION MASS
On Saturday, August 7, at the 5 p.m. Mass, Bishop Mark Rivituso, Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese, will be at St. Clare to formally install me as your Pastor. The rite of installation is an important aspect of me being given the mandate to be your shepherd. As part of the rite I will lead you in the profession of faith and then make my oath of fidelity. In addition, I will be formally presented to the parish staff and parish council, who will work closely with me in the administration of the parish. Many of them will be present for the Mass. I hope you can join in this celebration. I am grateful for all your prayers and support.
NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING
“To have … To hold … To honor, Natural Family Planning, Supporting God’s gifts of love and life in marriage” is the theme of this year’s National Natural Family Planning Awareness Week, an educational campaign of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to celebrate God’s vision for marriage and promote the methods of Natural Family Planning. Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a general title for ethical, natural, safe and effective methods for both achieving and avoiding pregnancy in marriage. NFP methods teach couples how to observe and interpret the wife’s signs of fertility and infertility. In the words of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, NFP methods “respect the bodies of the spouses, encourage tenderness between them and favor the education of an authentic freedom.” (CCC, no. 2370) Want to learn more about the methods of NFP offered in our archdiocese? MISSION DAYS
Mission Days I hope you’ll mark your calendar for August 14 and 15 as we celebrate our parish and the mission we have as disciples to spread the Good News of Jesus. The Parish Council has been working hard to prepare opportunities for you to grow in your faith. Please see the flyer in the bulletin and the graphics below for more details. The goal of the event is to bring us together for prayer, service and fellowship as we grow as the Body of Christ. It should be a great time, especially as Father Auer and I face off in a Family Feud challenge! You won’t want to miss it.
