The Archdiocese of San Francisco is very excited to announce our latest online course offering, a special course taught by Dr. Joe Zalot of the National Catholic Bioethics Center on bioethics from a Catholic perspective. These seven consecutive classes will be taught live on Zoom starting on August 10th at 7 p.m. (San Francisco time) and will be recorded for your convenience. Topics covered will include end of life decision making, euthanasia, medically assisted nutrition and hydration, advance directives, tissue donation, palliative care, and will cover an array of reading (recommended but not required!), particularly from Papal teachings.

Even as the world tries to divide us and suppress our Catholic faith, even as so many Catholics fail to understand the Real Presence, let us pray to make reparations for the abuses and/or neglect of this great gift: Jesus Christ's own Body and Blood, sacrificed for us.
Every Mass is a miracle. This July 30, let us pray together with Archbishop Cordileone: May the Holy Spirit guide and protect the Catholic Church as our bishops discern the path to Eucharistic revival. And may we, by prayers and fasting, make reparations for abuses against the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Vallombrosa is pleased to announce the retreat center is open and accepting bookings immediately. Reduced capacity and Covid protocols based on the current tier for San Mateo County are in place. Retreatants coming on campus must check-in upon arrival and follow strict COVID protocols to ensure the health and safety of all who come to the Center. Wearing masks is enforced along with proper social distancing. Hand sanitizers and disinfectants for cleaning are provided.
Private Retreats: Vallombrosa Center currently offers Private Retreats for those who want private rooms for alone time, with Spiritual Direction available. Guests can enjoy the walking trails, shrines and gardens. There are both Day retreats and Overnight (no food or coffee service available in either case) – learn more and book above.

St. Dominic's Church & Dominican Sacristan is a newly created position that will be responsible for all of the preparations necessary for the liturgical celebrations, ceremonies, devotions, and administration of the sacraments held in the church. This includes attending to the proper vestments, linens, books, prayer intentions, candles, vessels and supplies. The Sacristan will maintain the inventory of all liturgical supplies, care for the sacred objects used in the sanctuary, and assist with set-up for weekend Masses, weddings, baptisms and funerals. The person in this role will work closely with the Prior, Pastor, Director of Music and Liturgy, Mass Coordinators, and Lay Ministers of the parish.

The DFF will also contribute to forming Faith Formation experiences geared to the parish at large, in which context, in collaboration with the Pastor, they will develop processes of Sacramental Preparation for Matrimony, Baptism, and RCIA.
