We are nourished by Christ each time we pray the Mass. We are nourished
in our gathering, by the word of God and by the Eucharistic meal. The
people in this Sunday's readings need nourishment as well, both physically
and spiritually. In the Gospel, Jesus reveals himself to be the Bread of
Life, the source of everlasting sustenance. Since our hunger can always
be satisfied in Jesus, let us turn to him today and every day for nourishment as we seek to follow him, put on our new selves as St. Paul writes, and believe.
Food for Thought:
What nourishment have you received in Christ today? How will that sustain you as you “put on” your new self this week?
