Update+ Correction

We hope you received our latest edition of Update+ this morning. Shortly after sending it out, we realized that there was an error in the meeting schedule in the safe environment article below. Pastors and catechetical leaders are invited to attend 1 of 4 scheduled sessions to be introduced to the new mandatory safe environment education program, Circle of Grace and the revised grade level inventories. All program materials for your parish will be available for pick up at these meetings. Please see the correct schedule in the attachment below. Registration information will be forthcoming soon.
September meetings have been scheduled to present and distribute the new
SAFE ENVIRONMENT CURRICULUM
Circle of Grace
Many of you are working on your calendars and have asked how many lessons there are in each grade.
- K, 1, 2, and 3 – 2 lessons each.
- Grades 4 and 5 – 1 lesson each.
- Grade 6 – 4 lessons (could be done as a retreat or workshop).
- Grades 7 and 8 – 1 lesson each. (There are also alternate lessons – “Coping with Stress and Pressure” and “Different Boundaries for Different Relationships”.
- Grade 9 – 4 lessons (could be done as a retreat/workshop).
- Grades 10, 11, and 12 -- 1 lesson each. There are also alternate lessons for high school. Don’t discount the possibility of using some of these as youth ministry gatherings!
