Hi there, everyone! Here is our Flocknote for this week! Hope that you are enjoying these summer days!
1) Troop 176 Spaghetti Dinner: On August 15 from 3-6pm join the Friends of Troop 176 at St Vincent de Paul Church (13400 Lorain Avenue, 44111) to help raise money for Troop 176's Scout program! Dinner costs $7 per person and includes all you can eat pasta, bread, salad, and beverages. Join in on raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing.
2) Vacation Mass Schedule:
As I prepare for some time away in a few weeks one detail that is becoming increasingly clear is just how difficult it is to find fill in Mass help. There is just not a plethora of retired or extra priests out there who are able to fill in at a moment’s notice. Yes, I have been able to find some priests who are willing & able to help, but there is just not a large pool to pull from anymore.
The limited Mass help along with the possibility of a Funeral or two or three coming in when one of us is away (& with only 1 priest to cover everything between both parishes) will necessitate going forward, some changes to the Mass schedule. These changes will be needed ONLY when either Fr. Clyde or I are away. Again, these changes WILL NOT be permanent changes to the Mass schedule. When both Fr. Clyde & I are in town, the schedule will remain as is. But, when one of us is away, some adjustments to the Mass schedule will need to be made.
Some changes will be made while I am away from August 14th-26th, so be sure to check out the Mass schedule in the bulletin. Going forward, the exact adjustments still need to be discussed & figured out, but for now I just wanted to make you aware of the upcoming “Vacation Adjusted Mass Schedule.” There will need to be some adjustments to the weekday schedule along with the Saturday vigil schedule. Again, please know that this is not a change to the permanent Mass schedule, but ONLY for when either Fr. Clyde or I are away.
Thank you for your support & understanding!
3) PSR: Registration for PSR will take place on Aug. 28th & 29th near the front door vestibule area after both Masses. Please call Virginia at the Parish Office with any questions.
4) Nine Nights of Night Prayer: August 7th through August 15th. Click the article below for more details.
From August 7th-August 15th, 9 different Churches in the Diocese of Cleveland will be open from 8:15-9 pm for the praying of Night Prayer. You are welcome to pray at the same Church each night, join for one or two nights, or travel to all 9 churches to pray.
5) Divine Mercy: We will resume our praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the first Sunday of September, September 5th.
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
