Dear Members and Friends of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish,
The feast day of the patron saint of a parish is an important celebration in the life of the parish. August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and this year it falls on a Sunday. So this weekend is an important one for the Hull parish. Tradition also holds that St. Anthony of Padua was born on this day!
Though I was scheduled to have Masses in Cohasset this weekend, it is important for me to be in Hull for their feast day celebrations. I am grateful to Fr. Jack Predmore S.J. for covering the Masses in Cohasset, allowing me to be present in Hull.
As you might recall, the tables were turned on June 13, the feast day of your parish, which also fell on a Sunday this year. Though scheduled to be in Hull that weekend, Fr. Anthony Mecha covered the Masses in Hull so that I could be with all of you for your feast day celebrations.
God bless!
Father Scott
