Hello, Everyone!
Pumpkins, & Witches ruled this week in our classroom!
Songs, rhymes & stories about them were heard. And this little group of 3's is really enjoying them! Reading Buddies & Jolisa had their part in this adventure!
Pumpkins are helping us stay in shape! We're doing the pumpkin dance. In the gym they helped with a race , a pumpkin roll & there was time to play "drop the pumpkin"!
What fun to cut open a pumpkin to see & feel what's inside! "Yuk!" was a resounding response when youngsters were invited to smell the inside of the pumpkin.
"I'm not touching it!", several said when it was time to play in "pumpkin guts".
We did save & wash pumpkin seeds. On Tuesday we stirred them up with a bit'o butter & a pinch of salt. Off they went into the oven to roast...they were a great addition to snack!
"They taste like popcorn!"
"They're crunchy and good!"
Of course everyone had a chance to paint a picture of a pumpkin! Mrs.. Mac read a book telling us of all the different colors they grow in: White, orange, green, blue, yellow...so many choices! One artist decided to paint her hands, instead of on the paper...
Thank you for donated pumpkins! And yes, donations are still accepted!
And
Thank you for all the yummy snacks! No left overs ;-)
Coming up: The Wild West Book Fair!!St. James is sponsoring a book fair!
