Dear Parishioners,
Hope you are well! We just finished a great week of Vacation Bible School -- the children focused on the parables of Jesus, learning about how Christ's kingdom grows through His teachings, grace, and our response. Thanks again to all teachers, volunteers, and parents for making this week possible and so smooth.
This weekend, we will celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady, and will have a normal schedule of Masses, but as you might be aware, P.G. County reinstated its mask mandate for indoor gatherings as of last Sunday evening. The Archdiocese has asked that we comply with this mandate, so I thank you in advance for your cooperation. Let's continue to pray for healing, safety, and a deeper conversion during this time, that God "bring all things to the good for all who love Him" (Romans 8:28).
I should also mention that we will be discontinuing our livestreaming of the Vigil Mass for the time being, as Cardinal Gregory
reinstated the obligation to attend Mass in June, and there are many other online/televised Masses for those who are unable to attend Mass for serious reasons (e.g., see options at
this link). Thank you to Maria Centeno for her service in recording the Masses, and Emma Bigony for helping to put them online. We will continue to evaluate changing needs in light of our available resources.
God bless,
Fr. Tim
