Dear Saint Thomas More Catholic Families-
As you are aware, effective Monday, August 23, 2021, Tri-County Health Department is imposing an indoor mask mandate for students ages 2-1l. Currently, we are investigating our recourse, including opting out of the mask mandate.
As of now, and until you hear otherwise from Saint Thomas More administration, we are continuing with our policy of parental choice when it comes to masking. We, including Monsignor Tom, default to our belief that “Parents are the primary educators”; in which one fundamental right is parental choice. As always, we respect all choices on this matter. For those of you that feel more comfortable sending your child(ren) to school in masks, we, as a community, fully support that choice.
We remain committed to the safety and health (social-emotional, mental and physical) of all individuals in the building. Disinfecting protocols will remain in place as will our procedures to send students home with any symptoms of illness.
We will communicate to you when we have any further information. Please keep our STM Catholic community in your prayers.
Peace and blessings,
Gretchen DeWolfe, Principal
Kili Hady, Assistant Principal
