21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
8/22/21
Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
This week is a week of change at St. Joseph’s. As you know, Fr. Pier Giorgio has been reassigned to the Dominican parish St. Louie Bertrand in Louisville, Kentucky. He’ll leave after Labor Day. We will hold a going away party for him on Sunday, September 5th, after the 11:30 am Mass. I know that weekend is Labor Day weekend, but it’s the only weekend that will work. If you are in town that day, please come wish Fr. Pier Giorgio goodbye and thank him for all his hard work and service these past three years. We’ll all miss him. Fortunately, his family lives in the area, so I hope that he’ll stop by from time to time to visit.
Additionally, this weekend Fr. Clement Dickie, our new parish vicar, will arrive and he’ll preach all the Masses this Sunday to introduce himself. Please welcome him to St. Joseph’s! We were only one year apart in seminary at the Dominican House of Studies in DC, so I know him well. He’s an experienced priest and I look forward to working with him here. He’ll be taking over Fr. Pier Giorgio’s responsibilities.
Also, we’ll have a visiting friar with us for a couple of weeks. Fr. Fernando Reta, of the Argentinian Province of Dominicans, will be staying with us for the next two weeks and helping at St. Joseph’s. Please welcome him too.
Finally, the new McGuire Hall is almost complete: we should be able to start using it in a few weeks. We’ll also start construction on the new adoration chapel soon.
God Bless,
Fr. Boniface
