BRIDGES TO HOME
It is with jubilant excitement that I announce the re-opening of the Bridges to Home ministry after being shut down for 15 months due to COVID-19. I would like to share a story with you that is by no means a new story. You have probably heard it before. It seems timely to tell this story now as the ministry strives to generate the momentum we were experiencing before our operations came to a screeching halt in March 2020.
"This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done."
There are many tasks associated with the successful operation of the Bridges to Home Ministry. We seek people who can contact vendors to ask for donations or lower prices for furniture we purchase frequently, people who are in a position to donate funds in amounts large and small to maintain the ministry's ability to purchase basic items to fulfill our clients' needs lists, people who can organize furniture and miscellaneous donations offered to the ministry, people who are prayer warriors-praying for the safety, wisdom, strength, and faithfulness to fulfill the mission of the ministry, people who can write blogs to disseminate information to members desiring to stay informed of the ministry's progress and activities, people who are heavy and light lifters to staff the move-in teams, and others who can assist with miscellaneous tasks with no obligation to serve other than when it is convenient for you. I promise! Please discern if that nudge you feel from the Holy Spirit is galvanizing you to use your God-given talents to join this most worthwhile mission.
We have initiated new protocols to ensure the safety of all volunteers and clients during each process of our operation. Please feel free to contact Sharon (909-472-1316) or Mary (909-437-3221) if you have questions/comments/suggestions or just want to try out some aspect of the ministry. Trust that what you feel is a willingness to do God's will wherever that may lead.
