We all made it through the first week of the new year! Everyone has been on time, everyone has been great listeners and everyone has been hard workers! And hopefully everyone had a little fun too. Thank you all for a great start!
We started a little bit of math and science this week, but next week we will start all of our curriculum.
Reading - Our first spelling list will come home on Monday and test on those words on Friday. We will be reviewing short vowel sounds, VCCV patterns and multiple-meaning words.
Math - Chapter 1 is Addition and Subtraction within 1,000. We will look at patterns, rounding numbers to nearest 10 or 100 and different strategies to add numbers.
Science - Our first hands-on kit is "Structures of Life" We start with properties of seeds, dissecting fruits and vegetables and learning the life cycles of plants. (We will eventually have LIVE structures so be prepared!!)
Social Studies - This next week we will be working on some mapping skills...where states are in accordance to other states, North, South, East or West of it...
I hope everyone had a great week.
Wishes for a great weekend for all of you.
See you Monday!
