Hi there, everyone! I'm getting back into the swing of things after a restful & relaxing week & a half away. It was good to be away, but it's good to be back as well. Here's our Flocknote for this week...
1) Parish Raffle Tickets: At Mass this weekend, & in the parish office as well, you can pick up your raffle tickets for our Parish Raffle. Tickets are $2 for 1 & $5 for 3. The raffle will be a 50/50 raffle format with the pot being split between 3 winners. The drawing will take place at the Breakfast following the anniversary Mass on September 26th.
2) Anniversary Breakfast: In this weekend's bulletin, you'll find a flyer for our Anniversary Breakfast that will be held after the special 9:30 Mass with Bishop Malesic on September 26th. We ask that all forms be turned in, along with a $5 donation, by September 12th to help with the planning process.
3) Divine Mercy: The praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the first Sunday of the month will resume next weekend, September 5th.
4) Today is the Feast of St. Monica, who prayed for the conversion of her son, St. Augustine for many years. Perhaps we know someone who has wandered away from the Church, here is a prayer that we might pray for them...
O Good Shepherd, you never cease to seek out the lost, to call home the stray, to comfort the frightened, and to bind up the wounded. I ask you to bring (names) back to the practice of the Faith,
and to remove all obstacles that prevent them from receiving your abundant mercy, which flows sacramentally through the heart of your holy Church.
Through the intercession of Mary,
the Mother of God, their Guardian Angels, their Patron Saints and the ever-prayerful St. Monica, may you pardon their sins and unshackle them from whatever hinders their freedom to come Home. For you, O Good Shepherd, have loved us to the end and offered yourself to the Father for the salvation of all. Amen
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
