Hello 4th Grade parents!
Our first week is in the books. We spent most of the week getting to know each other, getting familiar with our classroom and reviewing school routines and procedures. We also toured the building to revisit how our school rules: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful are to be followed throughout. We did fit in a little school work and spent some time reviewing math facts, practicing parts of speech and getting refamiliarized with the Chromebooks. As expected, this group did great!
We are ready to dive into our lessons next week. Our first math unit will be: place value, addition and subtraction to one million!! We will also start spelling next week and discuss the structure of a story as we explore an excerpt from, " Because of Winn Dixie." We are still waiting on a few things for our science unit which will cover environments and our social studies exploration will begin with the Industrial Revolution.
As part of teaching our students about health and hygiene, Mr. Drey has distributed travel size deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes. The students will use these after lunch.
It has been a fun and full week getting to know all of your students! We look forward to our time spent with them in the next several weeks. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything or have any questions.
