Can you believe September is here and this Sunday, September 5, is our parish picnic. I invite you to come to the 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Mass and process up the Hill to the steps of the Hogan Center for Benediction. Afterwards, we will celebrate as a parish family with a good, old-fashioned picnic. I look forward to this event, as it has been quite some time since we have been able to come together for a meal. If you have not purchased tickets, you may do so at the picnic.
Did you know that the Rosary is recited after the Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. daily Masses? This is a beautiful tradition here at Sacred Heart. I invite those who can remain for the extra 15 minutes to stay and join in the recitation of the Rosary. With all the unrest in our world, we need Our Lady’s intercessions now more than even.
As a reminder, one of the guidelines from the Archdiocese of Washington and the Prince George’s County Executive is the requirement for everyone to wear a face mask when in the Church and Chapel. I know this requirement may be an inconvenience for most of us, but I appreciate your compliance.
Finally, I ask your prayers for the students and teachers returning for the 2021-2022 school year … that the new year will be a time of joyful learning.
Peace,
Father Potts
