What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works."

Statement of Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez Regarding Reinstating the Obligation to Attend Sunday Mass
As many aspects of life are now returning to normalcy, each Catholic Bishop in Pennsylvania will reinstate the obligation to attend Mass in person on Sundays and Holy Days beginning on Sunday, August 15, 2021, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Meet Seminarian Andrew Pinto!
Please remember in your prayers St. Maximilian Kolbe parishioner, Andrew Pinto,(pictured above) who entered St. Charles Seminary in August, in pursuit of ordination to the priesthood. He begins a seven-year formation process.
Andrew attended St. Maximilian Kolbe school, graduating in 2013, where he played multiple sports and was involved in several extracurricular activities. He then went on to Archmere Academy (2017) and Ave Maria University, in Florida, (2021) where he studied Humanities and Politics, and also played basketball.
Andrew is the second oldest of six children, with four brothers and one sister, all of whom attended St. Maximilian Kolbe School. His parents, Matt and Maryanne, have been members of our parish since 1996. (family picture below)
Please keep Andrew in your prayers as he begins his journey towards the priesthood.

ST. MAX RCIA PROGRAM
Olivewood Carvings return to St. Max the weekend of September 25th and 26th.
We will have on display beautiful handmade olivewood carvings from the Holy Land. The Christians of the Holy Land have been suffering and continue to live in difficult economic times due in part to the lack of tourism brought on by Covid.
By your support through the purchasing of these giftables, will help 200 families to remain in the Holy land. Supporting these families is important for peace in the Middle East.
We in Chester County are so excited about participating in the
PA March For Life coming up on September 27th, 2021 taking place in Harrisburg, PA.
It is a first time event for Pennsylvania, and we hope to have many people join us from our local community parishes.
A cost-free chartered bus is provided by the PA March Life for our convenience.
Jeannie Mancini, Pres. of National Right to Life and Abby Johnson, former Director of Planned Parenthood, are the featured speakers, along with many others participants. Bus seats are served on a first come basis. The bus is provided by the Klein Company, and it will be stationed at the Main St. Mall, located on 270 Indian Run off rout 100 and route 30, in Exton, PA.
It is a first time event for Pennsylvania, and we hope to have many people join us from our local community parishes.

Archdiocesan Novena to St. Joseph

The Archdiocesan Novena to Saint Joseph can be prayed in any setting, especially before or after Holy Mass and/or at parish meetings, in the classroom and in the family home. The praying of this Novena is to unite everyone in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the 19th of each month, from March through November 2021, in single petition of confident prayer to the Lord through the heavenly intercession of Saint Joseph. Please keep in mind the monthly Archdiocesan intention, found on page 4 of the Novena below.

Holy Hours with the Good Shepherd
Need some encouragement? Join us for a holy hour with fellow priests, religious and lay faithful as we seek strength and hope from Jesus, our Good Shepherd, the saints and one another during these difficult times in the world and the Church. The Holy Hour includes Rosary, Litany and Benediction. Afterwards join us for a short talk on a saint, exploring how he or she remained faithful to Christ and His Church during the trials of his or her time. Meets quarterly on Sundays, 2-4 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Drexel Hill, PA.
