As some of you heard Sunday, I will be taking a sabbatical thru October and November. I feel so very blessed to have the most exciting, coolest job in the world and to have such a wonderful, loving, caring, church family. It’s just time to take a break and get refreshed. As I’ve mentioned to a few of you, my phone has been on and attached for 11 years now. My main goal is to go hear some different preachers, get fed from some different teachers, renew vision objectives, get some fishing in and be ready to come back and take our church to the next level. I truly believe that it is coming and our best days are ahead as a church.
No doubt, A church has to have good leadership, a strong core group, and be in good financial standing for the lead pastor to take off for a couple months. And we are truly blessed in every category there! However, the TRUE TEST of our church will be how it does while I’m on sabbatical. This is not a time for folks to step back and “take a break” from church. This will be a time for everyone to step up.
I have full confidence that our Leadership Team is fully capable and willing to carry on and I hope and pray that each of you are comfortable going to our teams about anything. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone you wish on our current team, TC and Megan, David and Dana, Mark and Shannon and David and Veronica. I can guarantee that each one is capable and willing and I’m so thankful God has each one on our Leadership. Also, PRAY! Pray for your Leadership Team.
One last note: Please plan to be there this weekend if you can. I’d love to have a great showing of bikes to turn out for the 9/11 Memorial Ride. Proceeds go to Tunnels to Towers which is an amazing organization! I hope to see you there. I’m hoping that a few deputy buddies will be leaving with us from the church Saturday morning.
That’s all for now! I pray each of you has a wonderful, safe week!
Love y’all,
Preacherman
