(The following is from Cathe McCormick's sister Barbara)
Hey everyone. Such great news. Catherine has finally tested negative on her Covid test. This means she can have one visitor per day 10-6. Our cousin has been to see her; the best practice would be to call first to see if anyone has been there or if our family has requested to come that day. Please remember that she still has difficulty breathing, her voice is very rough from the ventilator, and she still cannot swallow and is on a feeding tube.
But, the better news is the nurse this morning said she is scheduled to transfer (possibly today) to a Rehab facility. I do not know which one yet; the hospital will call me when a bed is open in one of her three choices. I don't think there were any in the San Tan Valley area, just Mesa that can accommodate her needs. I will text you all when I know where she is headed. I want to thank you all again for your care and kindness, your thoughts and prayers, and your support through this horrendous journey.
September 8th marked 36 years of Consecrated Life in City of the Lord.
At our Recommitment Ceremony on September 6th, the following women rededicated themselves to the Lord, to one another, and their call to intercession for City of the Lord: The Sisterhood, 36 years: Mary Lou Kockelman, Judith Freeman, Marnie McCoy, Maxine Malini;
The Consecrated Widows: Mary Ann Clark, 27 years; Mary Ann Gibbs, 20 years; Emma Gilsdorf, 16 years;
Consecrated Single Woman, Monterey Branch: Gerrie Ridgway, 9 years.
Our closing prayer is always that it be God's will "to bring us to this day next year -- increased in strength, in wisdom, and virtue."
Amen! May this be true of all of us in City of the Lord.
