This Covid mess just continues to linger on and obviously affect everything and everyone around us. And while most people are comfortable now with each person making their own choices about getting a shot, wearing a mask, or attending a public event, there are still concerns about how Covid is spread, how it affects some people, how public venues should react, how information is posted, and so on.
As you may have heard, we had a visitor at church last Sunday that tested positive for Covid on Monday. Since then, we are aware of 3 more confirmed cases. We have consistently prayed for guidance each time and we have made a decision to have church as scheduled tomorrow.
There are a number of factors to decide to meet this time vs. cancelling church in July after having a positive case attend. The main message we want everyone to hear is we are truly seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit and have been since the pandemic began. In July, I personally made a call to cancel church because the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to me and said not to meet. You guys know me. I’m not that pastor that bullies my decisions without seeking guidance from our leadership team and those I rely on for council. However, if the Holy Spirit clearly tells me or gives me vision to do something, I’m going to do it without apology.
Also in this case, symptoms are showing up earlier. What some are calling, different variants, we still know it as Covid. And until someone can prove differently it was a man-made bio weapon that was formed to kill, cause fear, and interrupt life. This sounds much like the adversary that comes to steal, kill and destroy! And we know he is using it to tear down churches and disrupt. I, along with many in our church, are going to fight like Hades to keep it from happening. And we do that by figuring out ways to carry on and continue meeting. And do it without infringing on people’s rights.
Please, if you are not feeling well or you are having any Covid-like symptoms, do the right thing. Worship from home until you feel better.
One thing we will do a little different tomorrow is we will have the roll up doors open. If you’d like to sit outside then by all means grab a chair in the back room and listen from outside. With that being said, it may be a little warmer inside than usual so dress appropriately.
One thing that I plan to talk about in my sermon Sunday is prayer. Last Sunday I called on Ronnie to pray. And in his prayer he asked God to take away any Covid that may have come in the door. Did you receive it? Or did you just hear it? Prayer works when it is prayed in Jesus’ name, we BELIEVE IT, and receive it. Our spirit must agree with the words spoken and by faith we trust God, through Jesus Christ, to remove any virus or disease. We will discuss this more Sunday. In the meantime, please know that many prayer Warriors are lifting you and your family up in prayer each week and we invite you to join us in praying for your church every day. Without a doubt, satan is terrified of where our church is headed and he is going to use more than just Covid to tear us down. Let’s work together to send him on his way and grow the Kingdom in the process.
Have a great day and we hope to see you at church in the morning or worshiping with us online.
In His Grip,
Preacherman
