Remembering 9/11, A Modern Day Exaltation of the Cross
The Faith in my Lord, the Hope in our future, and the Love for the Cross that overwhelmed me when I was reminded of this story, gave me goosebumps and nearly brought me to tears. Let yourself by moved by this witness of His glory.
Our worries might be great, but His Power, Grace, and Faithfulness are infinite. Praise be to God the Almighty!

Around the Still Cross, the World Turns
"The 9/11 Cross is a site to behold. Particularly for Catholics.
For those who don’t know, in the rubble of the two towers a steel cross was found standing. The Carthusian monks have a saying, ‘ stat crux dum volvitur orbis’ or around the still Cross, the world turns. And, how the world turned on September 11th, twenty years ago.
While the 9/11 Cross is a testament to all people, it is particularly meaningful to Catholics because we understand the Mass: “Do this in memory of me.” Words that we hear repeated every day in churches around the world. Words that bring us back to Calvary - to the foot of the cross - standing timeless as the world turns. And the grace from that moment has given courage to countless heroes throughout the ages.
Roughly 2,000 years later on 9/11, the world witnessed this courage as so many men and women honored the memory of Christ by running to Calvary for others. And in the aftermath, God left a cross amidst the rubble to highlight just how profound their sacrifice was. It was a sacrifice united to the cross of Jesus Christ." NEVER ENDING LOVE
Pictured below is the 'Nora Tree', which accompanies our Fr. Grogan each morning as he sits on the rectory porch with his morning cup of coffee. Some of you may remember, a year ago this past Easter, Fr. Grogan's mother, Mrs. Nora Grogan, passed peacefully. Well, as a token of love and support, the church family gifted Father a tree in her memory; here it is. It gets better. If you look closely, the leaves on this young tree are shaped in the form of... you guessed it -- hearts! A symbol of the abounding love of mother and son, the Nora Tree, as well as its namesake, will never be forgotten.

Using Songs, Praying the Rosary and Diving into Scripture, the young ones will have an opportunity to learn more about their friend, Jesus, and make connections with Him in their daily lives.
