THIS WEEK:
We are loving learning about your families! The kids are beaming as I read the “homework” that has been brought back! If you haven’t returned yours, please get it in! I would like to have every family represented! If you need another one, please let me know!
We also had great team work while working with the 2nd graders on our turkey card project! (See the Facebook Page for pictures!) The preschoolers cut out the turkey bodies & glued them on the cards, then put their fingerprints on for the feathers! Then, the 2nd graders & preschoolers worked together to figure out what they wanted to write on the cards. The 2nd graders were so great and patient with the preschoolers! Next, the 2nd graders put their fingerprints on for feathers! They will also add the beaks & legs! This was a pretty labor-intensive project that we took on! We will work at getting it finished up & getting them to a nursing home or adult living facility!
I will be gone on Friday, November 10. Robin Lamb will be my substitute! She is great with kids & a lot of fun!
Also, PICTURE RETAKE day is Friday, November 10! If your child was absent or you just want the picture retaken…Friday is your day!
NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 13, 2017
ABSENCES: If your child is going to be late or absent for any reason, PLEASE let the office know! The number to the office is 319-653-3631. If no one answers, please leave a message! We do worry about your children when they are not at school!
READING BUDDIES: I am attaching the Reading Buddy information letter. A paper copy went home in bags yesterday!
WATER BOTTLES: PLEASE, PLEASE send your child’s water bottle back with them on Monday!
SNACK: Jacob and his family provided the snack this week! The kids love making their own sandwich with peanut butter! It is a great fine motor activity! The kids are getting really good at passing the food on their own! They are practicing their manners by asking for snack to be passed, saying thank you & waiting for turns! Thank you for the yummy snack!
Next week’s Snack-A-Nator is Jackson Courtney.
SUPERHERO OF THE WEEK: Trax Hansen has been our Superhero of the Week! And, it’s his BIRTHDAY WEEK! What a great way to celebrate turning 5! I always love seeing what the kids want to be when they grow up! Trax also shared with us his Nemo stuffed animal! The kids had a good discussion about the movie “Finding Nemo” & “Finding Dory”. Thank you Trax for sharing with us!
Next week’s Superhero will be Nathan Showers!
