Hi there everyone! Yes, I know that today is Wednesday, not Friday. Last week I had some unexpected stuff arise Friday afternoon just as I was getting ready to put together last week's Flocknote & I have a friend's Wedding this coming Friday afternoon, so I'm splitting the difference & sending out a 2 week Flocknote this week.
1) Deacon Ken: Please keep Deacon Ken & his wife Sandy in your prayers. Deacon Ken tripped this past weekend & fell & broke his arm. He is "ok" other than the fracture & recovering at home, but he will be out of commission for a time.
2) 2nd Collection this Weekend: This weekend we will take up a special 2nd Collection for the relief & recovery efforts from Hurricane Ida. Thank you for your generosity!
3) Raffle Tickets: Don't forget to pick up & turn in your parish raffle tickets. 3 winners will split the 50/50 pot, so good luck & thanks for your support!
4) Pet Blessing: There will be a Pet Blessing in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The blessing will be held on October 2nd near the side entrance to the Church.
5) Mask Reminder: A reminder that masks are strongly suggested & encouraged at this time when we are close to one another in Church. This is a way for us to show love & concern for others, especially those who might be in higher risk groups.
6) Living Rosary: St. Pat's Parish will be hosting the praying of the Rosary with the intention of a Respect for all Life. The Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, Oct. 6th @ 6:30 pm in the Church. All are welcome!
7) Our Lady of Sorrows: Today is the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. Here is a prayer in her honor:
O most holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ: by the overwhelming grief you experienced when you witnessed the martyrdom, the crucifixion, and death of your divine Son, look upon me with eyes of compassion, and awaken in my heart a tender commiseration for those sufferings, as well as a sincere detestation of my sins, in order that being disengaged from all undue affection for the passing joys of this earth, I may sigh after the eternal Jerusalem, and that henceforward all my thoughts and all my actions may be directed towards this one most desirable object. Honor, glory, and love to our divine Lord Jesus, and to the holy and immaculate Mother of God. Amen.
Have a Blessed Week!
