THE EUCHARIST IS REAL
Why should you come back to Mass? Because the Eucharist is truly the Body of Christ! More than just a symbol or nice metaphor, we believe that the Eucharist TRULY is Christ. This is a great mystery, but it is the Source and Summit of our faith.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you" (John 6:53). Christ wants to nourish us and be present to us. In every Mass, we have this incredible opportunity.

Demons, Obsessions and Disciples

In the Gospel, Jesus describes the attitude of his disciples - like children, trusting and following. Obsessions are thoughts that constantly trouble us. The disciples are constantly nagged by their envy, pretensions to greatness and desire to control Jesus. for our children and families that begin Religious Education at St. Mark this week. May the Holy Spirit continue to open their minds and enlighten their hearts in our faith. We also pray for our Catechists and Volunteers, that they may be strengthened to answer the call to serve and teach.

Second Collection Next Weekend for the Catholic Schools - September 25/26
This annual second collection helps the Department of Catholic Schools provide the necessary support to our 23 Catholic schools, approximately 530 educators, and 6800 students.

- All children from kindergarten through fourth grade will be invited back to our Chapel with an adult volunteer before the First Reading and return back to Mass following the Prayers of the Faithful.
Childcare
- Childcare is available in the Church Family Room to the right of the Narthex for infants 18 months to children 5 years of age.

Religious Education Families are invited to participate in a Blessing of the Animals before RE begins on October 5th, at 4:30pm in the Parish Hall Parking Lot.
*Please note the parking lot will be blocked off to allow families to safely gather for the blessing.
The Last and Servant of All
War and division are the consequences of sin. Our pride, envy, greed, and lust all try to dominate us for control. Disorder runs deep and it can be tempting to despair.
BUT the Good News is that God still has a plan for our lives and he sent Christ to provide us with his body as spiritual food and to show us the path forward through humility (not pride) that diffuses and disarms our self-centered egos. "The fruits of righteousness is sown in peace," St. Paul says, "for those who cultivate peace."

- Pray the “Our Father” slowly. What phrase or phrases stand out for you? Quietly reflect on these phrases, given to us by Jesus himself, and see what God puts on your heart.
